Bits and pieces: I am old enough to know better and young enough not to care. I will add that I saw the coverage of JFK's death live and saw the original star trek when it was first aired on tv. I have lived in several places briefly, but the two longest are Michigan and New York City. I have strong opinions, but I try to keep my mouth shut.

I read as much as possible: on the bus, on the subway, in the bathroom and the bathtub. I gave up reading while I drove when I was 20 [joke! joke!]. I read less fanfiction than I used to, and I'm pickier about what I read of it. I still prefer fanzines to on-line; I like the feel of print. I never can get through the Oprah Book Club books... but I devour history, biographies, science fiction, fantasy, and mysteries.

It doesn't seem that I'm stopping writing fanfiction yet, since I just finished a long (95k words!) Criminal Minds (fan) novel. And now I'm picking new fandoms, so it seems the plot bunnies aren't through with me yet.

I suppose this probably means that I don't like to do things that are good for me... and I can't even feel sorry about it.

Edited 6/1/2005 -- for all those asking about Solange (the Siamese periscope cat) -- the icon was done by the talented and generous karmakaze, who makes gorgeous icons. Solange is the cat who lives in 9 Chickweed Lane (comic strip) and is the star of Hallmarks of Felinity.

I love cats. I love Solange. Only rarely do I change my icon -- I am icon-creatively-challenged anyway. Thank you to everyone who admires the periscope cat, and I reiterate that it is entirely karmakaze's creation.
